What Platform is all about?

Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia is the director of the 2019 Spanish social science fiction horror film The Platform. The movie takes place in a huge “Vertical Self-Management Center,” modeled after a skyscraper.

The food is fed to the tenants, who are rotated among the tower’s numerous floors once a month, via a platform that starts at the top and progressively descends through the levels, pausing for a certain period of time on each. Because each level only receives the leftovers from the preceding ones, and the people at the top levels get to eat as much as they can, the system eventually results in strife.

Starring Cristina Rodlo and Marc Menchaca, it was made available on Netflix on September 29, 2021.Real and otherworldly terror are how “No One Gets Out Alive” creates tension.There are many positive aspects to Jon Croker and Fernanda Coppel’s writing, even though I’m not quite happy with how it was ultimately performed.

The story is situated in a location remote from the massive coastal cities that typically host these stories, and the filmmakers made a point of showing illegal immigrants from all nations, not only Spanish-speaking ones.

It’s a subdued recognition of the common experiences in the immigrant community, without necessarily taking away from the foreboding tone of the film or turning it into a plot point.

5. No Escape Room – Movies Like The Platform

One of the many escape room horror films released in the past several years is No Escape Room (2018). There are superior ones and inferior ones.

There are the edgy, slick, and stylish horrific ones like Escape Room, the throwback to the 1980s, like Hell Fest, and the sudsy, full of potential, but poorly executed Ruin Me from Shudder. One of the better ones is No Escape Room, where the paid attraction only serves as a springboard for the creepy stuff that happens afterward.

This movie is more of a supernatural mind-bender than a gory bloodfest, but it still uses a lot of gory jokes to make you nervous. However, creative writing that emphasizes mystery over violence produces the strongest plot beats.
