Peaky Blinders Cast: Steven Knight is the creator of the British period crime drama television series Peaky Blinders. It is based in Birmingham and chronicles the crimes committed by the Peaky Blinders gang just after World War I. An actual urban youth gang of the same name that operated in the city from the 1880s to the 1910s served as the inspiration for the fictional gang.
After the Great War, Britain was a country divided between hedonism and despair in 1919. In a country shaken by economic turmoil, criminal gangs, recently minted revolutionaries, and returning warriors are battling for survival. Thomas Shelby, a returning war hero, and his family led the Peaky Blinders, one of the most potent gangs of the era.

However, Thomas’s goals go beyond simply controlling the streets. He sees an opportunity to rise in the world when a shipment of guns disappears because, while crime may pay, legal commerce is more lucrative. Inspector Chester Campbell travels from Belfast to purge Britain of its criminality.
